Last pictures taken

Hello again. I just wanted to share the last few pictures I took. Nothing special, just thought I'd share--that and I actually have extra time.

This was taken last Sabbath, as I went out for a walk to just go someplace different.

A pedestrian bridge.

The view from the bridge, looking back to where I just came from.

Self-shot. Animated.

You know how I am with bridges.

After crossing.

Immortal Patriot

The following pictures were taken this Sunday (21st). I finally decided to hike this mountain/hill. Man, it was just what I needed!

Stairway

View of Ssangyong Park.

I like to go there to jog, but I've been there only 3 times. I really need to try to go more often.

At the end of the trail, there were apartments that are across the street from my apartments. These autumn leaves demanded my attention.

Looking back.

Further up, Further in.

Fallen Beauty.

So yeah, me and bridges as well as me and nature . . . what can I say? I love them both.

Well, I hope you all are well. If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope it was a good day for you and that you are enjoying the blessings of living in the land of plenty--without overdoing it.

May God bless you all.

Just to let you know . . .

Hello everyone. I guess most of you have heard about North Korea's attack on South Korea. I'm just writing to let you know that I'm fine. Actually, I didn't know anything about the attack until about 4 hours later when one of my jr. students told me. After that class was finished, I had some free time and searched for info. online.
The island attacked is about 75 miles (120 km) west of Seoul. I'm about 1 - 1.5 hrs. away from Seoul (depending on where in Seoul). Yeah, when you look at a map, I'm relatively close, but not really. Of course, if things get ugly, they'll move pretty quick.
Personally, I'm not worried. Whatever is going to happen will happen eventually. I just want to be sure I'm still connected to God. Other than that, I'm fine.
Just writting this to let you know. If you have any questions, feel free to comment or get a hold of me in whatever way you can.
Hope you're all doing well.

November up 'til now

Hello everyone. I apologize for the absense and lack of life signs. You wouldn't believe how busy I've been since the term started on Nov. 2. Most of it is due to the fact that I am now making up my own material for Religion class. No complaints, but it's very time consuming.

I'll just post pictures from all of the events I've captured since the last entry; I hope you'll bear with me.

The 1st is from Sunday, Nov. 7. I went to Seoul at about 6:30 to go to a short orientation of how to teach a certain Jr.'s (children's) class.

Ssangyong Station at 6:20-ish in the morning.

The exit I entered through.

After the orientation, I wanted to go and try the Taco Bell at Itaewon. It was crowded but the food was just like home--at least what I got was. They even have a "choco-dilla". Pretty good!

2 other SDALI teacher and myself. The taller one is from my orientation group. We had no idea we were gonna see each other that day; it was a very pleasant surprise!

Oh, now this I've got to try some time!

Some interesting art in the Samgakji station.

Now comes some pictures I took during the week (forgot which day). The autumn colors were irresistable.

At my apartment complex.

Gate to the street.

The street I always have to cross to get to my institute.

Just look at these colors . . .

A tree in front of my institute.

My apartment complex.

Now, the sun shines . . .

Walking back the way I came.

Ok, let's do natural with an angle.

From now til the end are pictures I took when I visited Kimberly in Suji on my weekend off. I was tired from the week, but I said I was gonna come, so I went.

I understand it was a lantern festival going on that weekend.

Yeah, I had to.

Sabbath lunch. It was soooo good!

Ok, it doesn't look that filling, but this was not the only thing I ate. I just didn't take pictures of everything I ate.

The view from Kimberly's bedroom window.

A park!

I am so jealous!

Another angle from her window.

When I looked down . . .

Did I mention she lives on the 19th floor?

This is pretty high. Good thing the bottom of the window comes up to my upper-chest.

The church is really thinner than that.

Down to the park! Yay! To walk outside on a sunny day!

Stand out. Be noticed.

Nice trail through the park, framed by trees on both sides.

Me and spheres, what can I say?

Hmm, I didn't have such a good hold . . .

. . . Kimberly, on the other hand . . .

Smiley totem poles.

The park and street by night.

I liked this. I could out my hands over the top easily. That picture was too blurry.

At Lotteria (Korea's "McDonalds"), we found a vegan-friendly sandwich--as long as you order without mayo or the burger pattie.

Only in Korea.

Sunday morning at Waffle King.

Hmm, was this on purpose?

They've got stuff.

Looking around the place.

Round 1.

I got a mixed nuts waffle with whipped cream and syrup. Forgot what Kimberly got. The guy there was really sweet and gave us complimentary coffee.

Too bad I don't drink coffee.

I've tasted coffee a few times. I hate it. I love the smell and I kinda like coffee-flavored ice cream, but I can't stand drinking coffee.

I guess it's an aquired taste.

I called the other picture "Round 1" 'cause the waffles were so good, we had to order another! Here's the guy preparing Kimberly's blueberry waffle. (Oh, did I mention these waffles are made with rice flour?)

Now he's preparing my chocolate-cranberry waffle.

The final products--with tea.

I must return at some point.

Ok, bear with me.

I had to answer a call from nature at Jonggak station, so I did. Just that I found this answering mechanism quite niffty: suitable for large and small callers.

Ok, that's all I've done so far besides teaching--or trying to. Please continue to pray for me.
